The chairman

Mr. Abdul Wahed

Chairman, Golpo Holdings Limited

Mr. Abdul Wahed is a prominent Bangladeshi industrialist and entrepreneur, best known as the Chairman of DBL Group, one of the country's leading vertically integrated manufacturing and export organizations. He began his professional career in the construction sector in the early 1980s and later entered the ready-made garments industry. In 1991 he co-founded Dulal Brothers Limited, which subsequently evolved into DBL Group, laying the foundation for a large-scale industrial enterprise.

Under his leadership, DBL Group has grown into a diversified conglomerate with major operations in textiles, ready-made garments, spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing and apparel accessories, creating a strong vertically integrated supply chain. The group later expanded into ceramics, pharmaceuticals, ICT and packaging, strengthening its position in Bangladesh's manufacturing landscape. DBL Group exports apparel and textile products to major international markets across Europe and North America, supplying globally recognised retail brands and contributing significantly to Bangladesh's export economy.

Mr. Wahed is widely recognised for his strategic role in expanding Bangladesh's textile and apparel industry, and has received the Commercially Important Person (CIP — Export) recognition from the Government of Bangladesh multiple times for his contribution to export growth and industrial development. His leadership has positioned DBL Group as one of the country's most respected industrial organizations, with a strong focus on quality manufacturing, sustainability and global competitiveness.

    Mr. Md. Waliullah

    Managing Director

    Mr. Md. Waliullah started his career in the construction business in 2000 and founded his company, Business Deal. Under his supervision as proprietor, within a few years Business Deal expanded its work into building design, construction and material sourcing for the industrial and commercial markets. His other successful ventures include Space Couture, a collaboration with Shanta Lifestyle, and W Agro, a firm he established in the agro business.

    He has been involved in the hospitality industry for the last 18 years. During this period he has founded several restaurants and held the position of Managing Director at Voot Restaurant (Thai), Absolute BBQ (Indian), Project Hilsha (Progressive Bangla) and BGB Banquet Hall. He is the director of Izakaya (Japanese) and The Lobby (continental).

    Apart from his business engagements, Mr. Waliullah has been involved in a variety of philanthropic activities for more than ten years. He is an active founder member of the Try Foundation, which has taken a series of initiatives for climatically and socially destitute communities around the country, and he is very active in his home district in the development of community education and socio-economic enhancement.

    Mr. Md. Shariful Alam

    Director

    Mr. Md. Shariful Alam is a Bangladeshi businessman and industrial entrepreneur with extensive involvement in the country's manufacturing and export sectors. He is associated with the ready-made garments industry through Fresh Fashion Wear Limited, an export-oriented apparel manufacturing company supplying international markets. He also serves as Chairman of Alam Soap Factory Ltd., a consumer goods manufacturing company based in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj. Through these ventures he has been actively engaged in Bangladesh's industrial development, export growth and manufacturing sector expansion.

    He is connected with leading national business bodies including the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, reflecting his strong presence in the country's business and export community.

    Alongside his business career, Md. Shariful Alam is also involved in public service and currently serves as the State Minister of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute in the Government of Bangladesh, where he contributes to policy initiatives aimed at strengthening the textile and jute sectors.

    Director

What began as a small textile firm has grown into the success we see today. The journey was anything but smooth, filled with challenges and obstacles. Yet, giving up was never an option. Mithela is a passion project close to my heart, and I am fully committed to transforming it into a world-class enterprise that others can look to for inspiration.

    Director

    Founder & Managing Director, Mayar Limited · Proprietor, Ever Edge · Partner and Shareholder, Pro Grow Agro Protein Limited

    Mohammed Yasir Rabbi is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and business executive with diversified experience in engineering construction, marine and dredging works, trading, renewable energy, agro-processing, equipment supply, project facilitation and real estate development. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Mayar Limited, Proprietor of Ever Edge, and is associated with S R Impex International and Pro Grow Agro Protein Limited. His professional background combines business leadership, academic exposure, institutional project execution, consultancy, research and community-oriented engagement.
